Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. During a conference, participants must employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their country. These skills include public speaking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening,negotiating, conflict resolution, note taking, and technical writing.

Providing delegates with such platforms to think upon, The MUN Club DDUC was formulated in the year 2011, under the convenership of Dr Nisha Rana and Co-Convenership of Dr. Monika Bansal.

The MUN Club DDUC hosted its first annual Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College Model United Nations Conference( DDUCMUN 2011) on 4th-5th August 2011, in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre and the United Nations CSO Network at the Conference Centre, University of Delhi, which was inaugurated by Professor K.V.Thomas(Minister of State- Food and Agriculture, Government of India).With an organizing committee of more than 60 students, under the leadership of Devesh D Lalwani residing as Secretary General, DDUCMUN 2011 was not only the highlight of the National MUN calender but also one of the largest Model UN conferences that Asia had ever seen!Having students participating from over 200 schools, colleges and universities from over 8 countries, including USA, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc. Totalling over 450+ students, this was indeed a great platform for potential young leaders to discuss issues pertaining to the matters that affect the society as a whole.

Further as a part of Kalrav 2012, the DDUCMUN Winter session was organized by The MUN Club DDUC with Amarinder Arora and Mehr Arneja residing over as Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General respectively, having participation of over 100 students from parts of North India stimulating three UN councils namely UN Human Rights Council, UNESCO and The Association of Eminent Indian Personalities(AEIP).
